Calculating Derivative – Polynom – Exercise 6342

Exercise

Find the derivative of the following function:

f(u)=5{(3u^2-u+4)}^4

Final Answer

f'(u)=20(6u-1){(3u^2-u+4)}^3

Solution

f(u)=5{(3u^2-u+4)}^4

Using Derivative formulas and chain rule in Derivative Rules, we get the derivative:

f'(u)=5\cdot 4{(3u^2-u+4)}^3\cdot (6u-1)=

One can simplify the derivative:

=20(6u-1){(3u^2-u+4)}^3
