# Derivative Rules

Here’s what you can do in derivative calculations:

• Multiplication by constant Rule:

$$(af(x))'=af'(x)$$

• Sum Rule:

$$(f(x)+g(x))'=f'(x)+g'(x)$$

• Difference Rule:

$$(f(x)-g(x))'=f'(x)-g'(x)$$

• Product Rule:

$$(f(x)\cdot g(x))'=f'(x)g(x)+f(x)g'(x)$$

• Quotient Rule:

$$(\frac{f(x)}{g(x)})'=\frac{f'(x)g(x)-f(x)g'(x)}{g^2(x)}$$

• Chain Rule:

$$(f(g(x)))'=f'(g(x))g'(x)$$
